Walker and Johnson are juniors, who like Wilson, have made steady contributions over the past two seasons. The same goes for Motil, who is solid with the ball at her feet and as an outside back, can not only put pressure on the corners, but also move the ball up the field quickly.Ĭali Walker, Ashton Johnson, and Brooke Shugart will also see time helping UCO's stout back line. Wilson has starting experience in both of her first two seasons and is a steady contributor. Greer will move up a little with the midfielders but can be a crucial figure on the back line as well. Kedzior also proved efficient in the offensive side of set pieces as well as and will work again to provide the same versatility this fall.Ĭamille Greer, along with Meredith Wilson and Madison Motil, will help out in the back too.
Kedzior plays outside back and is just as crucial to the success of the defense as Gordon, stopping offenses in their tracks and eliminating chances around the corner. Taryn Kedzior, who was named MIAA Freshman of the Year last season, gives Gordon some competition for who is the best defender on this team. She also plays a key role in set pieces both offensively and defensively. Anchoring the back line from the center back spot, Gordon has a physical style of play that keeps offenses from even trying to contend. She will stop almost every effort that comes her way. The two-time All-Region winner and returning All-American is the best defender in the MIAA and among the best in the country. Kelsey Gordon is the unquestionable leader of the back line for the Bronchos. "It's a deep position too, so we'll be able to bring in new faces without dropping off from the level of play." "We have a talented bunch on the back line and they have plenty of experience and pretty athletic, so we feel good about that position," UCO head soccer coach Mike Cook said.
